On April 19, 2025, Elsewhere brought the Kashmiri folk-rock band Gaekhir Republik to Chandigarh. Founded in 2019 by Sarfaraz Javid and Suhail Ahmad — with Mohsin Hassan joining on lead guitar in the autumn of 2020 — the band first turned heads in 2021 with two singles, 14th Lunar and Fikri Pyous, prized for a sound and a storytelling instinct all their own.

Their debut album, Mandnyan Shaam (October 2023), drew real acclaim for the way it folds folk, rock and psychedelia into something aching and new; in February 2024 came the video for Jazz Ahmad Jazz. On stage: Sarfaraz Javid on lead vocals, Suhail Ahmad on bass, acoustic guitar and backing vocals, and Mohsin Hassan on lead guitar, rabab and backing vocals.
