jump (play)
This September, Elsewhere put JUMP centre-stage — a play that leans straight into the conversations we tend to avoid. Written and directed by Maneesh Verma and starring Sanjay Sonu and Dilnaz Irani, it’s a two-actor black comedy about life, death and all the strange territory between, set on a rooftop in Mumbai.
A gloomy night, high above the city. A woman who has reached the edge of her life stands at the literal edge of a building. A taxi driver — himself marked by his father’s suicide — arrives just in time and pulls her back into conversation. What follows is funny, raw and quietly transforming: two strangers from unalike worlds finding the one thing they share. Will he truly be able to save her? Or will she end the night back on the ledge?
