jump (play)

This September ‘Elsewhere’ brought on centre-stage JUMP, a theatre production that strikes uncomfortable conversations, addresses concerns that envelop us, and explores issues that are part of our collective consciousness. Written and directed by Maneesh Verma, and starring Sanjay Sonu and Dilnaz Irani, it is an unusual love story that signifies the power of a true and simple human connection. A two-actor black comedy about life, death, and everything in between is set in Mumbai.
On a gloomy night, atop a Mumbai high-rise, a professionally successful woman stands on the verge of suicide. Just in time, a taxi driver, scarred by his father’s suicide, intervenes to save her. This serendipitous encounter ignites a humorous, poignant, and profoundly transformative conversation, bridging their disparate worlds. Amidst the urban chaos and desolation, they both find a unique connection in their shared humanity. Will he be able to truly save her, or will she find herself back on the edge?
